2026 Alfa Romeo Giulia Review: Still a Driver’s Car
The 2026 Alfa Romeo Giulia is an old sport sedan that still feels special to drive. Canadians barely buy it. Stellantis sold only 127 Giulias here last year. Even so, the car’s steering and chassis remain its strongest arguments.
Price and power in Canada
Every Canadian 2026 Alfa Romeo Giulia comes with Q4 all-wheel drive. The turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder makes 280 hp and 306 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic is standard. Alfa quotes 5.4 seconds to 100 km/h.
MSRP starts at $62,995. Freight and PDI add $2,195. The Veloce package is about $4,200 and adds a limited-slip rear differential, red calipers, sport seats, and black window surrounds.
The hot Quadrifoglio is not coming to North America for 2026. That 505-hp twin-turbo V6 stays overseas.
How it drives
Steering is the highlight. The electrically boosted rack still sends clear road feel, even in the wet. Dynamic mode firms the dampers, cuts body roll, and sharpens turn-in. Comfort, or Advanced Efficiency, eases the ride over rough pavement.
The turbo four has strong mid-range punch for passing. It is quicker than many entry BMW 3 Series rivals on paper. It is not a high-revving thrill at the top end.
Two caveats matter in Canada. The turning circle is large for a compact sedan. This test also ran on smooth Italian roads, not frozen potholes.
Where it feels old
The cabin shows its age. The centre screen is only 8 inches. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are wired, not wireless. Warning chimes, including speed-limit alerts, reset every time you start the car.
Seats are well bolstered and the leather still feels premium. That is not enough to hide the dated software.
Should you buy one?
The 2026 Alfa Romeo Giulia is for drivers who want feel more than gadgets. It is fast enough, AWD, and still handsome. It is also a low-volume car from a brand that may shrink further in North America.
If you want the newest screen and wireless everything, look at a 3 Series or Tesla instead. If you want a sedan that still talks through the wheel, the Giulia is one of the last of its kind.
