Ram Updates 2027 Heavy Duty Trucks with More Payload and Options
Ram has updated its 2027 Heavy Duty trucks with better payload capacity and more options. The biggest change is a new Payload Upgrade Package for the Ram 2500.

This package is available on most 2500 models with the 6.4-litre Hemi V8. It costs $835 and includes a stronger 3500 frame, leaf springs, and an anti-spin rear differential. With the upgrade, the truck reaches a maximum payload of 4,580 pounds. Ram says this is best in class for three-quarter-ton trucks.
Some Ram 3500 models also gain more capacity. The 4×4 single-rear-wheel Regular Cab with an 8-foot box and the Crew Cab with a 6-foot-4 box get a 400-pound increase. Their gross vehicle weight rating now reaches 11,440 pounds when equipped with the Hemi V8.
Other updates include new standalone options. Buyers can now order the Warn winch separately on Rebel and Power Wagon models. The Power Wagon also offers an optional beadlock-capable wheel package.
Preliminary ratings for the 2027 lineup show strong numbers. The Hemi-powered 2500 can tow up to 17,740 pounds. The Cummins diesel version reaches 20,000 pounds of towing. Higher 3500 models push these figures even further.
The Ram 2027 Heavy Duty updates focus on real-world capability. These changes should appeal to buyers who need more payload without moving up to a heavier truck class.
