2027 Chrysler Pacifica review: First Drive of the Canadian Minivan
Chrysler has refreshed its Pacifica minivan for the 2027 model year. The updates are modest. Canadian buyers get a new front design, some interior options, and lower starting prices. The vehicle remains a practical family hauler built in Windsor, Ontario.
What Changed for 2027
The Pacifica receives a revised front end with new lighting. Interior updates include a new Blue Agave upholstery option on the top Pinnacle trim. The signature Stow ‘n’ Go second-row seats that fold into the floor remain available on most versions.
Pricing has dropped. The base front-wheel-drive model now starts at $52,995 including freight and fees. That is about $4,200 less than the previous year. All-wheel drive adds roughly $5,000. The top Pinnacle trim sits near $73,000.
Powertrain and Efficiency
Every 2027 Pacifica uses the familiar 3.6-litre V6 engine. It produces 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. There is no hybrid or plug-in hybrid option this year. Chrysler dropped the PHEV earlier, and no electric version has appeared yet.
Fuel economy sits at 10.6 L/100 km combined for front-wheel-drive models and 12.0 L/100 km for all-wheel-drive versions. These numbers lag behind hybrid competitors such as the Toyota Sienna.
Driving Impressions
The ride feels soft and comfortable for passengers. Body roll is noticeable, which helps settle children on longer trips. Some drivers find the van heavy and occasionally jerky in everyday use. Safety features include available surround-view cameras and a blind-spot camera view that activates with the turn signal.
How It Compares
Main rivals in Canada include the all-hybrid Toyota Sienna, the more affordable Kia Carnival (with a hybrid option), and the Honda Odyssey. The Pacifica still stands out with its Stow ‘n’ Go seating. However, the lack of an electrified powertrain and only minor updates leave it less competitive on efficiency and modernity.
The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica remains a capable, made-in-Canada minivan with excellent family practicality. Lower pricing helps, yet the limited changes and absence of a hybrid option may not be enough to attract many new buyers in a market that increasingly values efficiency.
