Chinese Airline JuneYao Introduced Electric liftback Air
The new Chinese company, JuneYao Auto, has shown official images of its first model, the Air electric liftback. According to Car News China, the full premiere of the new product will take place in the second quarter of 2024. It will go on sale in 2025. Prices are expected to start below 200k yuan (28.18k USD).
JuneYao Auto is a subsidiary of JuneYao Group, which is engaged in various activities but is known mainly as an air carrier. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the group decided to diversify its business and acquired the unsuccessful company Yudo Auto (aka Yundu), founded in 2015. Last spring, Yudo launched the small electric crossover Yuntu on the home market, but its future fate amid the emergence of a new brand is unclear.
It is expected that JuneYao Air will become part of a solution for an integrated approach to customer service: that is, you get off the plane of the company of the same name and get into its branded taxi or car-sharing car.
JuneYao Air is said to be designed in the spirit of “minimalist aviation aesthetics” on a proprietary platform. No technical specifications are disclosed; it is only known that the electric car will be offered to customers in six body colors – Cloud White, Morning Glow Pink, Sky Blue, Earth Green, Sunrise Gold and Dawn Black. The cabin will have an LCD instrument panel, a large multimedia touchscreen, a two-spoke steering wheel, a pair of cup holders, and a platform for wireless charging of gadgets.
Earlier this month, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the US government should set up trade barriers for Chinese electric vehicle makers. Otherwise, US companies may lose out in competition with rivals from China, said the owner of the electric car brand, which recently lost to the Chinese BYD in its home market.
