Hero Surge S32 EV scooter launched in India
The new company Surge Automobiles , owned by the large Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp, has introduced an original solution for urban mobility – the S32 model. This is a transformer that combines an autorickshaw and a scooter. The manufacturer says it can transform from one vehicle to another and back again in just three seconds.
Surge S32 is built on the AMSEP (Advanced Modular Scaleable Electric Platform) platform . The “trolley” that serves as the basis for the autorickshaw includes rear wheels driven by a 13-kilowatt electric motor, power electronics and a removable battery. A two-seater scooter with a 6-kilowatt electric motor and its own battery pack is connected to it at the front. Its rear wheel is raised and installed on a special platform. The driver can then control the rear electric motor using handlebar controls. To detach the scooter, you need to lift the cockpit’s folding windshield.

Various add-ons are available for the platform: a three-wheeled vehicle can be turned into a three-seater passenger car, a flatbed truck, or a van. In all cases, the maximum speed will be limited to 45 km/h. The scooter can accelerate to 60 km/h. The power reserve, prices and start date of sales have not yet been disclosed.

At the end of last year , British sports car manufacturer Morgan Motor Company presented its own electric tricycle . For now, this is just a prototype that will be used for testing in the next two years, but in the future there will also be production electric models.
