Quebec EV rebate ending is set for December 31, 2026. Under the current Roulez vert program, buyers of a new fully electric vehicle can receive up to $2,000. Used electric vehicles qualify for $1,000. However, the provincial rebate drops to zero for any vehicle registered on or after January 1, 2027.

Current Quebec EV Rebate Amounts
In 2026, the Roulez vert amounts are:
- New fully electric vehicle: $2,000
- Used fully electric vehicle: $1,000
- Plug-in hybrid (15 kWh or more): $1,000
- Plug-in hybrid (8 to under 15 kWh): $500
The rebate is based on the registration date, not the order date. Therefore, a vehicle ordered in late 2026 but registered in 2027 receives nothing from the province. The federal EVAP rebate of up to $5,000 remains available separately and continues beyond 2026.
Possible Extension After Election
The Parti Québécois won the October 2026 provincial election and formed a minority government. During the campaign, the PQ promised to keep the $2,000 incentive for vehicles under $50,000 and phase it out gradually over four years instead of ending it abruptly. As of late October 2026, this remains a promise rather than official policy. The current rules still apply.
What Quebec Buyers Should Know
Many buyers are aiming to register their vehicles before the end of 2026 to lock in the provincial rebate. Combined with the federal EVAP, the total incentive can reach $7,000 on eligible models. After December 31, only the federal program will remain under the current rules.
