Police in Ontario stopped a 26-year-old Oakville man for extreme speeding. Officers clocked his father’s BMW at 184 km/h on the Queen Elizabeth Way.
The incident happened on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 9:54 p.m. Burlington OPP officers ran stationary speed enforcement on the QEW Toronto-bound near Dorval Drive in Oakville. They spotted a blue BMW travelling well over the limit and pulled it over.
The car was a roughly 10-year-old BMW 3 Series with a folding hard top. The driver was heading toward Toronto at the time.
Stunt Driving Charge and Penalties
Ontario law treats speeds more than 50 km/h over the limit as stunt driving. The recorded speed of 184 km/h met that threshold. Police charged the 26-year-old man with stunt driving.
As a result, officers suspended his driver’s licence for 30 days. They also impounded his father’s BMW for 14 days.
