Canada’s biggest gathering of Chrysler-family vehicles returned to New Hamburg, Ontario, on August 15 and 16, 2026. Moparfest once again drew roughly 1,500 Dodges, Chryslers, Plymouths, Jeeps and Rams to the small town west of Kitchener.
A 45-Year Tradition
The event celebrated its 45th anniversary this year. It began in 1979 as a small club meet in Heidelberg, Ontario. Organizers later moved it to New Hamburg and expanded it into a two-day show. Attendance has grown steadily, with recent years regularly topping 1,300 to 1,500 vehicles.
Spectators came from across Canada and the United States. Clear skies on both days helped create a strong turnout.
What Visitors Saw
The show field mixed classic muscle cars with modern performance models. Visitors could see Plymouth Superbirds, Dodge Chargers, Challengers, Demons, classic trucks, and current Hellcat-powered vehicles. Rare models and custom builds also filled the grounds.
A car corral offered vehicles for sale. Food trucks, vendors, live music, and a people’s choice vote added to the weekend atmosphere.
Small Town, Big Show
New Hamburg sits about 30 minutes from Kitchener and 90 minutes west of Toronto. The quiet community is better known for its Mennonite heritage and historic waterwheel. For one weekend each summer, the streets fill with the sound of V8 engines instead.
Just across the Nith River sits Jerry Pfeil Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. The dealership is one of the smallest Stellantis outlets in Canada and has long supported the event. Staff describe it as a destination store for enthusiasts rather than a high-volume retail location.
Why It Matters
Moparfest remains the largest all-Mopar gathering in the country. It brings together owners of both classic and modern Chrysler-family vehicles in one place. For fans of American muscle and Canadian car culture, the annual New Hamburg event continues to deliver a strong weekend of cars, community, and history.
