The Lucid Air recall Canada campaign covers 128 Air electric sedans from the 2022 through 2026 model years. Transport Canada says wiring tied to the centre high-mounted stop lamp may overheat. As a result, headlights or taillights could fail. In some cases, the circuit could also produce smoke or a fire.
Lucid is asking owners to park affected cars outside and away from other vehicles or buildings until the software update is installed.
What the Lucid Air recall Canada covers
The same issue affects 27,185 Air sedans in the United States. The problem is software control of an electronic fuse, or eFuse, on low-voltage exterior lighting circuits. If the circuit draws too much current, it can stay energized and overheat.
Lucid has linked three fires to the issue. It has also received four smoke reports and 33 related warranty claims.
Transport Canada lists the campaign as 2026-404. Lucid’s internal code is SR-26-06-0.
How owners can fix it
The good news is that most owners will not need a dealer visit. Lucid released software version 2.10.0 over the air. The update lowers the current allowed through the circuit. It also stops a faulted circuit from being powered again in the same key cycle.
Owners should check that their Air is running version 2.10.0 or later. After the update is complete, the park-away advice no longer applies.
