In October, the much awaited electric Honda N-VAN e is set to formally launch on the market. Honda plans to increase EV sales by announcing that the starting price of its new electric N-Van will be $15,500 (2,439,800 yen).
Since 2022, Honda has been hinting about a new light-electric van based on its N-VAN gas-powered vehicle. A prototype was unveiled at the Japan Mobility Show in October of last year, providing us with some further details.
Honda has been getting ready to introduce the new N-VAN EV for over a year now, following extensive domestic testing of the car.
On Thursday, Honda revealed that the electric N-VAN will be on sale in Japan on October 10, 2024, with a starting price of just $15,500 (2,439,800 yen).
With a WLTC range of up to 152 miles (245 km), the new N-VAN has 30-minute rapid charging. Honda stated that the specifications are adequate for delivery, which is one of its main target markets. It can charge in around 4.5 hours with standard charging (6 kW).
More features and accessibility were added to the N-VAN e by Honda, but only for the electric variant.
Electric N-VAN e Features
The battery of the electric N-VAN e is positioned beneath the floor, giving it a flat, low floor and a high ceiling. The van has a sizable aperture on the passenger side due to the removal of the central pillar.
The N-VAN is available in four variations and is intended to “meet a wide range of customer needs,” including both personal and business use.
The default model is called e: L4. Its four seats allow it to be used for a variety of purposes. Moreover, a 7-inch LCD panel is included to provide important data.
The e: FUN model has “styling that integrates in nicely with customers’ hobbies and leisure activities,” and it is based on the e: L4. Additional characteristics of the vehicle include LED headlights as standard and rapid charging.
The e: G was created with business application in mind. It is designed for delivery or other business purposes and has one seat. The electric vehicle has a 95 mm longer length and a 120 mm lower floor height than the gas-powered N-VAN.
The final e: L2 N-VAN model from Honda comes in a variety of combinations. The e: L2’s center pillar and seats have been eliminated, making it simple to load and unload the car.
Only the Honda ON and the Honda Fleet Sales Division will be able to lease the e: G and e: L2 vehicles.
On October 10, 2024, Honda will launch the new electric N-VAN e into full-fledged sales in Japan.
Honda is stepping up its EV aspirations while competitors are backing off. Honda declared that in order to catch up, it will invest $65 billion (10 trillion yen) until 2030.
