The 2027 Mercedes GLE Canada price starts at $88,800 for the GLE 350 4Matic. The GLE 450 4Matic is $96,500. The plug-in GLE 500e 4Matic is $99,600. The V8 GLE 580 4Matic+ jumps to $124,200. Freight can add as much as $5,250 on top.
Mercedes still imports the U.S.-built GLE into Canada. Some rivals pulled American-built models when costs jumped. This one stayed.
Powertrains
Every GLE uses 4Matic all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic. AMG 53e Hybrid and AMG 63 S models sit above these four.
- GLE 350: 255 hp turbo 2.0-litre four, with a 48-volt mild hybrid.
- GLE 450: 375 hp turbo 3.0-litre inline-six, 413 lb-ft, also mild hybrid.
- GLE 500e: plug-in, with a 3.0-litre turbo six plus a 181 hp motor. System output is 429 hp and 502 lb-ft.
- GLE 580: 530 hp twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8, 553 lb-ft.
The 500e replaces the old 450e. Mercedes quotes about 106 km of electric range on the WLTP cycle. Real use may land near 90 to 95 km. One test car showed 46.7 km left at 52 percent charge. Zero to 100 km/h is about 5.6 seconds. The curb weight is near 2,600 kg, so corners still feel heavy.
This plug-in will not get the federal EVAP rebate. The price sits far above the $50,000 cap.
How the 2027 GLE drives
Mercedes calls the update about 40 percent new. The nose is wider. Headlamps run in a horizontal line into a black panel and an illuminated star. Optional Digital Light uses micro-LEDs. Mercedes says the high beam is about 40 percent wider and uses about 50 percent less energy.
On the road, the 450 feels quiet and settled. Comfort mode suits a highway. Sport mode tightens the curvier bits. The six does not lag at higher elevation. The 500e is smoother and quieter, and AirMatic keeps body roll in check.
Optional E-Active Body Control can adjust each wheel up to 1,000 times a second. AirMatic with predictive damping is the more common comfort pick.
Cabin and rivals
The MBUX Superscreen uses three 12.3-inch displays, with an optional 3D driver screen. MB.OS adds faster chips, AI features, and over-the-air updates. Seats get 3D stitching. The dash uses Artico. Steering-wheel controls are rockers, not the old touch pads.
Rivals include the BMW X5, Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, Genesis GV80, and Range Rover Sport. The 2027 Mercedes GLE Canada still sells the occasion: a quiet cabin, a long option list, and a plug-in if you want a short electric commute.
